What we have been doing in Wananga (Research Decade)

Hi guys!

Welcome back to my blog. Today, I'm going to tell you the things we do in our Wananga time. 

In our Wananga, we have this sheets that has some works to be done, then we write our name if we finish those task. We are doing this for the rest of the term. 

So far, I've been reading epic and did some pobble, but I'm really focused on our research decade.

Research decade is where we search some interesting facts about event, person, disaster, invention, fashion, music in 1900's to 2020. 

I did 2020 which is about "Corona virus". I've research some facts about coronavirus, and it does take time to finish. But luckily I've finished it.

Ya'll know that quarantine is done.  In our Wananga we have to write something we don't do in quarantine. So it's basically comparing the both of them. It's a difference between things what we can't do while in quarantine.

Word Cloud

Kia Ora everyone!

Welcome back to my blog. Today's blog is going to be about... things we did on isolation.

We have to make a word cloud using the site called "Word Cloud". We have to list different things we did while in quarantine. 

How what your quarantine? I had a lot of fun staying in my home with my family. We did played some games, baking, crafts and more.

Writing (Movie Trailer)

Hey everyone!

Welcome back to my blog. Today' blog is going to be another writing. The last writing that I post is about a blockbuster movie. And today is going to be about a Movie trailer.

I watch some examples movie trailer. Then I after I watched it. I thought for a while about what I'm going to do. I put my ideas together and I made it!

In our movie trailer that we made, it must include:

• Title, actors, directors
• Which film studio is making it
• Release date 
• Clips of what happens in the movie without giving the plot away. 

And the video tools that I use to make this us Imovie. I really love editing especially a video. I edited it on my phone and then I sent it in my Chromebook. 

It wasn't hard for me since I always edit videos and photos. And it was also fun to make. It was kinda blurry so I apologise.

Reading ( Dive)

Welcome back to my blog. Today's blog is going to be about.... Reading.

Anyway, we have to pick different story. I pick the story called "Dive", the author is Gina Cole.

The story is about a girl named Shelly. And she is from Auckland but she moved and lived to Fiji. She and her cousin Eddy was going for a swim. She suddenly dropped her phone because she felt something moving below her, it was long, black and white. And it is a.... Sea snake.

The task that I want to do is to create a piece of artwork. I tried to draw her. My drawing wan't that good because I was rushing, I needed to do something. But I tried.

Math (Making Ends Meet)

Hi everybody!

Today's blog post is going to be about my math task.

Our task for our math is we have to make a weekly menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner for a family with 2 adults, and 2 kids. We had a budget of 200$. I think it's enough for the whole week.
 This took me a while to make. 

If your wondering what "Making Ends Meet" means. Here is the meaning. 

Making ends meet = To have enough money to buy what you need to live. And we have to eat to live.

Narrative writing

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to my blog. Today's blog is going to be about writing. I'm going to show you a presentation later, let me explain what we are supposed to do. 

We have to make a story. We have to choose horror, fantasy or action/adventure. I choose fantasy. Then we have to watch a short video of an example of a fantasy story. And I have to write the related word of magic, spell and mythical.

I also have to explain what the characters names, what they look like, what age they are, and some of their personality. We can also include some images. (Those images aren't mine.) 

Then we have to do the settings. There are 2 main settings. The settings is where the important scene in the story.

Then we have to do the story planner which is orienteering and the problem in the story.

We also have to do the language features.

Here is my story:

Ep1:

 Bully 2: Hahaha! What a pathetic girl.
Bully 2: She looks so ugly!!

Vanessa Pov:
Why is my life like this! I always get bullied and my face!? It looks so ugly! I'm not even rich like them. Ugh, calm down Vanessa don't mind them, you can do this.

1 week later:

Bully 1: Uhm, I'm sorry, we shouldn't have done that to you, we should have think what you would feel.
Bully 2: Cmon, we have to show you something, its a secret place!
And then they run leaving me alone confused.
I mumbled to myself:
Vanessa: They feel sorry? How? Showing me a secret place? Why?
I took a deep sigh as I followed them.

As we arrived. I frowned my eyebrow together.
Vanessa: Where is the secret place?
Bully 1: Duh? This? Isn't it obvious?
She rolled her eyes in irritation.
Vanessa: This??!
Bully 1: Are you deaf or something? Uh! I don't wanna repeat my words.
Vanessa: But why?
Bully 2: Vanessa, I lost my earings somewhere inside. Can you please find it for me? Please?
I sigh before I took a steps. This place look so old. It looks like an old building. Anyway, I went inside trying to find it. My back was facing in the door so I can't see what they are doing. Then suddenly, I heard the door.. Lock!??! I turn my head towards the door, only to see it... LOCK!!!??
I run towards the door and bang it.
Vanessa: Yah! I'm still here! Open the door!
Bully 2: You really believe everything we said, didn't you?
Bully 1: HAHAHA!!! Guess what, our plan succeed! We trick her!
Bully 2: Cmon, let's go, let's leave her here!
Vanessa: What! Yah! Get me out of her!
I keep on banging the door hoping for someone to help me. I've been her stuck 5 minutes already. Honestly, this place look so creepy. I was super hungry. I went around the building and tried to find a food. As I was wondering around, I found purple bottle. To be honest, it looks magical. I went near the bottle. My eyes widened as big as a cup. I saw a.... Genie!!??
She got out of the bottle and said
"Since you found me, your going to have 3 wishes from me, but if you do anything bad, that wishes, will turn into a disaster.
I happily nodded as I pretended to be innocent. I shouted my 3 wishes. "I want to be rich! I people to like me! And lastly, I want to be pretty!!!"
I shouted all my lungs out. She suddenly pointed at me. I can't describe what happen next, it was all fast, magical, it's like i'm in, fairy-tail. It was so bright so I close my eyes. When I open it. Everything is glamorous. I saw an old mirror, I grab it and look at myself, I look, pretty. When I look back, the genie wasn't there anymore, nor the bottle. I tried to open the door, and surprisingly, it open.
