Drama

Kia Ora,

Today I am going to share about what we have been doing during drama. In drama, we have to choose a monologues. Monologues is basically a script that we want to act. We went into a site where there is a lot of script that we can choose.

Monologues:

 I don't want to get all Hallmark cards on you, but you're my best friend. We've been through so much together. You know me better than I have ever let anyone know me. You're the first person I've ever met who understands me, who thinks the way I do, who gets me. Am I crazy? Am I wrong? Because... you're important to me. If you just aren't attracted to me... I could understand that. I know you can't choose who you want, you can't control those feelings. The heart wants what the heart wants. If we could choose... then I could stop wanting you.

I chooses a script and we have to act it but we also have to put the movements that our characters will be doing while acting the words.

Sad voice {Voice}

Looking down {Movements}

Slowly facing him {Movements}

Sad voice {Voice}

Stops on some words {Voice}

Eyebrows down {Movements}

Sad voices{Movements}

Started being serious {Movements}

Smile weakly {Movements}

Then put a little bit of information about our characters. Also the role that we are doing, specially the characters emotions.

Role: I am Mira

Age,Gender,Appearance: I am 16 years old, I am a girl. I have long dark brown wavy hair. I have blue

eyes.

Family,friends,job: I have 2 jobs, I live with my sister. I don’t have that much friends. I am also caring and

loving

Emotions,thoughts: I’m usually always emotional over little things, I’m kinda sad.

We practice reading our monologues. The next thing we have to do is to act it out while taking a video. But I just recorded myself.

Some techniques that I do:

  • Every time you say a word from the script, make sure to feel the emotions
  • The important thing whenever you act is the facial expressions. If you will just be reading the script with no emotions, that wouldn't look good at all. You need to have facial expressions in order to act.
  • Second thing you need to have is movements. You need movements so people can see or know what you are doing.
Thank you for reading. I hope you learn something new. That's all for today, have a great day, bai :)

Wondering

Hai everyone,

Welcome back to my blog. Last week during HR, we were talking about wondering.

What is wondering? Wondering is when you are interested on knowing something, in another word you can call it "curious".  Have you ever sit there and wonder about something? Wondering about something interesting that no could answer? Wondering about something you really wanna know?

Last week, we had to research about something we are wondering about. Then we have to post it in our blog.

The wondering I'm going to talk about today is "Why do we have rules?".  This wondering may be a basic topic but it's so helpful and a useful facts.

In life, we do need rules. Because if we don't have rules, things can be dangerous or can be more complicated. If you do something that is against the rules, you can go to jail or paying. Breaking the rules can have consequences. Just imagine without having any rules. What if cars are allowed in the sidewalks? What if people is allowed to steal things, including your stuff? If you have rules that you always do, someday you would realise how many of them exist to keep you safe. Some rules isn't always that fun for you, sometimes you just don't wanna follow those rules. But you have no choice but to follow them. There can be a serious consequences in the law. We can't just do things that are forbidden for us to do. Rules are really helpful especially when it comes to safety.

Here is a link for more facts about "Why do we have rules?":

Thank you, I hope you learn something new today. That's all for today, bai.

Speech

Kia ora everyone,

Welcome back to my blog. Over the past few weeks, we've been working on making a speech.

We can pick different categories, such as places/countries, famous person, disasters and etc. Then we have to research some information about that categories that we picked. It has to be 3 paragraphs long. Then we have to be in a group of three. We have to share our speech and read it in front of them while recording ourselves.

We spent an hour to research more facts about the topic that we chooses.

The topic I was researching about is "Cave Creek disaster". The cave creek disaster made me so curious about what happened back then. So then I research more facts about the cave creek disasters and found out some information.

Here is the research I found:

Cave Creek Disaster - 1995

I’m going to talk about what happened to the cave creek back then

There were a group of students who came to the crave creek for a field trip, to study the limestone formations and the caves. They were split into 2 groups, there are larger and smaller groups. The larger group has 18 students with the punakaiki officer, they came to the platform first. At 11:25 am, 18 students moved to the platform, but the platform suddenly fell 40 meters onto the borders taking the students with it.  It was all a mess, there were some officers trying to rescue/save the victims (Students). They also called a helicopter to rescue them. 5:30 pm, 14 bodies have been lifted up by the helicopter. 13 students died and 1 field officer, 5 students survived and were injured from the tragedy. They have to pay the families victim with the total of $2.6 million. After those incidents, they’ve closed the place. In 1998, 3 years had passed after the incident, it was open again to the public. They made some changes in the place after what happened back then, making sure that it wouldn’t happen ever again.

A survivor named Smith, had been  recovering from the incidents. One day, there was another class trip in Cave creek, they warned Smith about it, but instead of refusing it, she agreed. But now when she was up there, everything started flooding back. She loves going on outdoor family adventures, such as camping and more. But after the incidents on Cave creek, everything changed. She said, the joy that she had back then was all gone. That time, she was swollen out of depression, full of anger and anxiety. She was traumatic that time. She has a name about what she is feeling, and it’s called “Survivor guilt”. A survivor's guilt is when a person asks themselves why they survived and why others didn’t, or they might feel guilty for failing to do something that could have saved someone else’s life.

She exclaimed “I couldn’t even bear to be in that town”. It made her realize about her strengths and her weaknesses. She changed when she gave birth to her son. They heard that the platform isn’t well designed by someone who isn’t that experienced. The police started investigating, a staff member has been in charge of keeping the doc where the report is in. Unfortunately, the single copy of the report went missing and they couldn’t remember who the staff was.

That's all for today. I hope you enjoy, have a great day, bye.
