Business Enterprise/Market Day

Kia Ora everyone,

Welcome back to my blog. For today's blog I will be talking about Business Enterprise.

For the past few weeks, every Tuesday, Wednesday and I think Thursday, we have been doing business enterprise. A business enterprise is when we make something and sell it. There should be about 3 or 4 students in one group, we should also come with an idea of a name of our group that relates to what we are making which is also called a product.

Each group should have a product to make, on the first day of business enterprise, we have to search some things that we could make to get some ideas and to search how to make them. Our products should be Ethical, Environmentally, Sustainable and Profitable. We had this slideshow where we put all of the information about our products. We took a lot of times thinking about how much our products will costs, we make sure that our product costs fairly so it won't be too expensive. There were a lot of docs/slides that we have to fill in, just like how much our products will cost, the things that we need to buy to make our products and more. We also have to write a letter for an approval of our products.

I am in a group of Lhysette, Jaren and Cate. Each of us has a different position. Lhysette is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). She's the one who has to write a letter for the approval of our products. She basically leads the group. Cate is the Production Manager. She's the one who has to check our products and make sure it's all organise, and the packaging. Jaren is the Sales/Finance Manager. She has to add the cost and the profits of our products. I'm the Marketing Manager. I make the poster, the promoting for our products and helps to sell our products.

The name of our group is called "Eudaimonia". Lhysette is the one who came up with the group name. Eudaimonia is a Greek word, it means happiness, welfare and blessedness. Our products are Scrunchies, Slime and Bracelets. It's mostly a girls stuff. We didn't really have that much time to make our products, so on last week Saturday, Lhysette and Jaren came to my house to finish our products. We had a little problem while making the scrunchies, but we managed to finish them anyway. The bracelets are just a homemade ones, and the slime as well. We have most of the things that we need which means we don't need to buy that much stuff for our products.

We made 6 scrunchies, 9 bracelets, 6 slime, when they buy our product we include to give them a free mask and a free thank you card. Each scrunchies cost $2.00, the bracelets cost $2.00 and the slime cost $2.00 as well.

I think that the scrunchies are the most hard one to make, just because we have to hand-stitch them, we didn't get to use the machine since many students have been using those. The bracelets are the easiest one to make because you just need to braid them. The longest product that took us so long to make is the slime, because sometimes it's sticky and sometimes it's not stretchy but we already handle that problem. We also have to make a poster, the poster should include the name of our group, the cost of our product and we can also draw a picture of our product.

Yesterday we were already finish making our product so then we moved the table that we need to so we could put our products. We settle down, and put all of our products in the table so they could see it, everyone was doing the same. There were songs that we could listen. After everything is settle, we started to sell. Lhysette and Jaren looked after our product and waited for them to buy while me and Cate went around and buy some things and foods. Then after we bought this, we changed position which means me and Cate has to look after our products. There were some good foods and drinks, and I like the way people's products are creative.

Hornby Primary school also came to buy stuff. At the end, it turns out really good, we sell all of our products. When everything was finish, we had to put back all of the tables to where they belong, then picked up some rubbishes that are laying on the ground. Then we went back to our classes and continue the day.

Maybe next time I would change our product because our product are just a little bit hard to make. I think we made $22 on market day. I honestly didn't expect that we can sell all of them, I thought there would be some left over products.

We actually made a good teamwork. At first it was hard but at the same time it was fun and worth it.

That's all for today, I hope you enjoy. You can give me some helpful, thoughtful and some positive feedback. And I'll see you all next time, bye.
